The heavy equipment of the Swiss Army

Construction equipment was introduced into the Army in the early 1950s and was used primarily by the Genie and Air Defense/Rescue Forces. The machines were always driven by highly trained operators. Today, the army’s own vehicles are no longer resprayed; moreover, work is increasingly being contracted out to civilian companies. The number of the heavy equipment of the army has decreased accordingly.
