Conserve / restore

The main task of the conservators / restorers of the Foundation Humber of AM is to work little by little areas such as documenting the inventory, conservation, restoration and documentation of the extensive number of objects of the collection.

The main focus is on maintaining and/or improving the function of the objects as information carriers of bygone aereas. The focus is to preserve original material as far as possible and to stabilize and secure it with materials and parts which are resistant to aging and have a positive effect on durability.

Objects that can no longer be saved are documented and digitally archived. In this way, the loss of vital information is avoided as far as poosible.
